  • Welcome to the Lower School

Message from Dr. Deborah Davis, 2024-2025 Interim Lower School Head

What an incredible 10 months I have had being a part of the MBCA community! I have been blessed by the school's welcoming, generous, and gracious embrace this year. Getting to know the lower school students when they would read to me or come tell me the Bible verses they memorized was so much fun! Seeing their excitement as they shared their verse or finished a reading was the highlight of so many days. The MBCA lower school has a professional, fun, caring, and loving staff, and I have enjoyed working alongside each one of them.

We accomplished several important tasks this year, while being productive, having fun, and making it so meaningful. Additionally, teachers completed important curriculum audits and continued the process of examining scope and sequence. MBCA parents and the community are a joy to partner with, and remain focused on MBCA's mission and vision. I am so grateful that generous parent participation with the Spring Fling has provided an incredible opportunity for all lower school reading teachers to participate in intensive professional development instruction for the coming school year.

As I step away, Ms. Jill Hunt steps in, and I know the lower school will continue to grow and she will take the students, staff, and community to the next level. She brings an incredible amount of expertise and experience that will allow MBCA to thrive as a school dedicated to providing a truly Christ-centered education for our children through an environment which develops and encourages academic excellence, spiritual growth, and a lifelong love and desire for learning.

Message from Jill Hunt, new Lower School Head

What a blessing it is to step into the role of Lower School Head at MBCA! I am honored and excited to join such a vibrant, Christ-centered community that is deeply committed to academic excellence and spiritual growth. It is clear that the MBCA is a joyful place where students are known, loved, and encouraged to thrive. I am grateful for the strong foundation that has been built, and for the welcoming spirit that defines the school.

Seeing the joy the students bring every day - from reading Bible verses to sharing milestones - I am filled with anticipation to begin this journey alongside them! These are the moments that make a school come alive, and I am eager to experience them with you all each day firsthand.

With a background in both early education and school administration, I've spent 15 years committed to creating school environments where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. I believe when students feel "at home" at school, they are free to grow into the individuals God created them to be. As an educator and a mother, I understand the importance of nurturing the whole child - academically, spiritually, and emotionally.

I have always believed that "teamwork makes the dream work," and I look forward to partnering closely with the incredible MBCA families, faculty, and staff. Your dedication to the school's mission is inspiring, and I am excited to continue building on the momentum of a successful school year - especially as we look ahead to the professional development initiatives that will further equip our teachers to serve our students.

To Dr. Deborah Davis - thank you for your leadership and the joyful energy you brought to the lower school. Your impact is evident, and I am grateful to follow in your footsteps as we seek to lead with grace, wisdom, and purpose.

This is a new chapter for us all, and I cannot wait to get to know each of you. Together, with God's guidance, we will continue to cultivate a learning environment where children grow in their faith, flourish academically, and develop a deep love for learning. Here's to a new season at MBCA - one filled with purpose, partnership, and the presence of Christ in all we do.

  • US 101 - Rescheduled Sep 5th

We have an important update regarding our upcoming US 101 – Upper School & Beyond event. Originally planned for this Friday, the day before the long weekend, we’ve received feedback that many of you may be traveling and unable to attend.

In an effort to respect your time and give all of our families the opportunity to participate, we are rescheduling US 101 to take place as part of our Upper School Open House on Friday, September 5. Rather than holding two separate events on different dates, we have decided that integrating Upper School 101 with our Open House will allow us to be mindful of your time while still providing the most comprehensive picture of the Upper School journey. This will allow you to hear directly from our high school students and recent graduates, ask questions, and gain valuable insight into the Upper School experience and beyond.

We will be sending additional details soon regarding the Open House schedule and how US 101 will be included in the itinerary. For now, we encourage you to mark 8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 5 on your calendar. If you already plan to attend, you can RSVP at this link, and additional details will follow in another email. We look forward to seeing you there!
