  • 5th Annual Eagle Open Set for September 9th

The fifth annual MBCA Eagle Open golf tournament will take place on Monday, September 9th, at Indian Hills Country Club. The tournament will begin at 10 am and is the season-opening and primary fundraising event for the Mt. Bethel Athletic Association. Those interested in playing can sign up here.

“Playing in the golf tournament is a great opportunity to meet other Mt Bethel parents, and to help support the overall sports programs. It's always a great time!,” said MBAA President Ben Walker.

In addition to the fun and fellowship that playing in the event allows, there are also sponsorship opportunities available at various levels.

“Sponsoring this event is a great opportunity to get your name in front of East Cobb families and fellow business owners, and a great way to give back to the community,” Walker added. Sponsorships are especially beneficial, as this tournament attracts many from outside the Mt. Bethel community, meaning a greater reach for your sponsorship dollars.

Those wishing to help sponsor the Eagle Open are encouraged to reach out to Ben Walker - ben@spindleandoak.com.

While the Eagle Open begins the year for the Athletic Association, it’s not the only fundraiser. The AA will help close out the school year with the Round Eagle Tennis/Pickleball Tournament, which has traditionally been held towards the end of April.

As with other private schools, our Athletic Association exists to fundraise for all athletic programs, and help provide volunteers for athletic events.

The Mission of the Athletic Association is to positively impact all MBCA student athletes by providing non-budgeted equipment, facilities and team experiences. The MBAA works in conjunction with the Athletic Department to grow and strengthen quality athletic programs at MBCA, as well as support the athletics administration, coaches, and staff.

“We support our student athletes so they can be at their best, while supporting all sports programs and our amazing school during this season of growth,” said Walker.

The MBAA is composed of all parents of MBCA students in 5th-12th grades. Members may be asked to help organize and operate events that are put on by the Athletic Department, such as taking up a gate at events, running the concession stand, pre-game setup, post-game breakdown, and fundraising efforts.

Since its inception, the MBAA has raised close to $300,000 for the athletics department. Recent purchases or projects have included:

    • Discus & Shot Put Throwing Ring
    • Guardian Football Helmets
    • Basketball Shooting Machines
    • Baseball Roll-Away Cage
    • Concessions Trailer
    • Sports Field Utility Vehicle
    • AED Equipment
    • Student-Athlete Sports Banquets
